ELPRO Improves CSR Rating for Fourth Consecutive Year

ELPRO has once again received a silver medal for significant achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, intelligence and collaborative performance improvement tools for global supply chains.

"ELPRO has received the annual EcoVadis scorecard ranking our company in the 89th percentile (63 points out of 100) overall among all companies studied in our industry,” says ELPRO-BUCHS AG CEO Philipp Osl. “This marks a consistent year-over-year increase in our performance for the fourth year in a row. This year in particular, ELPRO achieved advanced sustainability performance in the areas of ethics and sustainable procurement,” Osl observed.

Industry leaders such as Johnson & Johnson, Verizon, L’Oréal, Subway, Nestlé, Salesforce, Michelin and BASF are among the more than 55,000 businesses on the EcoVadis network, working to assess, collaborate and improve sustainability performance in order to protect their brands, foster transparency and innovation, and accelerate growth.

“We operate a voluntary CSR system developed by EcoVadis. Their sustainability scorecards provide us detailed insight into environmental, social and ethical risks along our supply chain. We are honored to receive this recognition from such a renowned examining office that assesses companies across 155 countries and commend our employees for the part they each play in this ongoing effort to drive meaningful change in our supply chain,” noted Osl.

The EcoVadis methodology is at the core of the company’s CSR analysis system, covering 21 criteria across four themes that include environment; fair labor and human rights; ethics; and sustainable procurement. The methodology is built on international CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000.
