Sustainable Circular Economy for LIBERO Components

With the initiative to reuse valuable components of LIBERO data loggers, ELPRO helps to prevent early disposal of A-grade components and to support component availability.

Due to various motivations – be it legal requirements, economic requirements or individual persuasion – the sustainable use of resources is becoming more and more the focus of our actions.

ELPRO wants to contribute to an efficient, sustainable re-utilization of valuable components. We have therefore decided to centrally reclaim our LIBERO data loggers. Thus, we will return the largest possible share of the valuable, scarce raw materials, parts and components built into our LIBERO data loggers to ELPRO's material and production flow via a re-utilization process.

We use only A-grade components that are typically designed to serve between ten and twenty years. In the ELPRO re-utilization process, these components are controlled and remanufactured while ensuring ELPRO quality standards.

We are convinced that with this re-utilization process we can support the sustainable use of resources and thus counter the worldwide shortage of raw materials and components. Help us to do this by getting you as well as your logistics partners and service providers involved in our "Sustainable Circular Economy for LIBERO Components" initiative.

Five reasons for returning your LIBERO data loggers

Icon_Recycling_green_whiteAvoid waste of resources

Over 90 percent of all hardware components in our data loggers can be reused or recycled. These are particularly valuable raw materials that are needed for chip production.

Icon_Recycling_Cost_green_whiteAvoid recycling costs, strengthen the circular economy

The extraction of raw materials from individual data loggers is complex and the disposal, recycling or reprocessing is expensive for the individual. By reclaiming our loggers, we help to ensure that the largest possible proportion of the valuable raw materials used is returned to ELPRO's material and production flow. Parts that cannot be reused are recycled correctly sorted.

We use only A-grade components in our data loggers. These are typically designed to serve between ten and twenty years. In the ELPRO re-utilization process, these components are reprocessed and reused in a controlled manner, so that customers receive devices that are as good as new.

Icon_Recycling_Quality_green_whiteAssure quality

By feeding the components of the returned data loggers into the ELPRO defined and controlled re-utilization process ourselves, our high quality standards are guaranteed. Our retraceability system ensures that components are used a maximum of once to three times in ELPRO products, depending on their type and criticality.

The global shortage of raw materials and components is also leading to massively increased prices. One aspect on the way out of the crisis is the high-quality reuse of parts and components. Only through the sustainable use of resources can long-term availability be ensured at prices in line with the market.

Collect the used LIBERO data loggers on site until you have reached the desired number of data loggers. Pack the collected data loggers securely and prepare the shipping documents. From a quantity of 500 LIBERO data loggers ELPRO will help you with the shipment and will pay the shipping costs. In this case please contact us directly.

When doing so, please be sure to declare the data loggers as 'Returned Goods for Recycling' and not as 'Defective'. Send the data loggers to one of the ELPRO locations listed below.

ELPRO checks the LIBERO data loggers and components for possible re-utilization. They are then returned to ELPRO's material and production flow. All components that cannot be reused are handed over to an official recycling station on site.

FAQ – the most important questions about the re-utilization of components of your LIBERO data loggers

Where do I get value from sending data loggers back?

The industry has been observing a growing shortage of components for several years. Initially, the shortage was mainly of simple components such as condensers. But today there is a global shortage of a number of raw materials and components. This has led to a massive increase in prices. Since this will not change in the foreseeable future, ELPRO, our suppliers and you, our customers, are increasingly focusing on the circular economy and the re-utilization of components. Only through the sustainable use of resources can availability be ensured in the long term at prices in line with the market.
By participating in our initiative "Sustainable Circular Economy for LIBERO Components", you contribute to return as many valuable and scarce components as possible directly into the production cycle of LIBERO data loggers.

What is the advantage of returning data loggers?

The extraction of raw materials from data loggers is complex, which is why recycling is expensive in many countries. By taking over the recycling and re-utilization of parts and components centrally for you, we and you contribute to an efficient and sustainable circular economy and ensure that the greatest possible proportion of the valuable, scarce parts and components built into our data loggers are returned to ELPRO's material and production flow.

Who pays for shipping the data loggers to ELPRO?

Organization of the shipment and shipping costs will be taken over by the sender. From a quantity of 500 LIBERO data loggers ELPRO will help you with the shipment and take over the shipping costs. In this case please contact us directly.

How can I return LIBERO data loggers?

Pack the data loggers and prepare the shipping documents and the delivery note. Declare the shipment as 'Return Goods for Recycling'. Send the data loggers to one of the ELPRO locations listed above.

Which type of data loggers can I return?

What information do I need to include with the return?

Please use a delivery note with the details of the sender and the number of data loggers. Please make sure to label the data loggers as 'Return Goods for Recycling' and not as 'Defective'.

From what quantity is it worthwhile to return the LIBERO data loggers?

We firmly believe that it is worthwhile to return every single LIBERO data logger to the ELPRO material and production flow. Over 90 percent of all hardware components of our data loggers can be reused or recycled. These are particularly valuable raw materials that are required for chip production. In addition, we use only A-grade components that are typically designed to serve between ten and twenty years.
