We promote awareness of sustainable actions among our employees. Sustainability activities are taken into account when selecting suppliers and service providers. Our sustainability efforts were awarded and certified by Synesgy with an ESG Score «B - good sustainability» in 2023.

Our ambition: By acting in an economically, environmentally, and socially responsible manner, we want to improve people’s quality of life and safeguard the livelihoods of present and future generations.

Vision Sets the Direction

Bosch's sustainability strategy is based on concrete objectives in all key areas. The focal points of sustainability management are summarized in the target picture "New Dimensions - Sustainability 2025".

The sustainability activities consider the entire value chain – from materials and goods purchasing or manufacturing operations at our sites to the use phase of products sold and right through to their end of life.

ELPRO's Contribution to the Vision

ELPRO makes its contribution in all areas relevant to the Swiss production site. In the following, we provide an overview of the dimensions of climate action, health, human rights, circular economy, and diversity at ELPRO.

Climate Action

Since 2020, the Bosch Group with its more than 400 locations worldwide has been climate neutral (scopes 1 and 2). The climate neutrality was achieved by using four levers:

  • increasing energy efficiency

  • generating energy ourselves from renewable sources (new clean power)

  • purchasing electricity from renewable sources (green electricity)

  • using carbon credits to offset remaining CO₂ emissions.

In 2022, remaining emissions of 0.7 million metric tons of CO₂ were offset by carbon credits. Scopes 1, 2, and 3 are used in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.

ELPRO's facility in Switzerland has been CO2-neutral since January 2023.
The headquarters and production buildings are certified according to the requirements of the Minergie™ standard (certificate no. SG-1645). The Minergie building standard is aimed at building owners and planners with above-average requirements in terms of quality, comfort, and energy
We use resources such as electricity, water, and other raw materials carefully and avoid waste. At the beginning of 2024, we installed a modern photovoltaic system on the entire roof of the building. It is designed to produce one third of the total annual electricity consumption.

Health

Safety and health protection of employees, as well as the safety of customers, suppliers, visitors, and external companies are of central concern to us at ELPRO. To this end, we have introduced a comprehensive safety system. We comply with the applicable national laws and directives. Tools and equipment used in production and service, both internal and external, are continuously checked to prevent accidents at work. Workplaces are ergonomically designed and enable employees to work without discomfort.

We take all necessary measures to maintain and improve health protection and to ensure the physical and mental health of our employees.

Human Rights

Together with our business partners, we want to find answers to the global social and environmental challenges of our time. At the heart of these efforts is all stakeholders’ common understanding of sustainability as enshrined in the “Basic principles of social responsibility at Bosch” and the ten basic principles of the United Nations’ Global Compact.

On this basis, in our Code of Conduct for Business Partners we require that our suppliers comply with the generally applicable labor standards as laid down in the Fundamental Principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO). This includes, among other things, renouncing forced labor and child labor, not permitting any form of discrimination, guaranteeing occupational health and safety, creating fair working conditions, and ensuring freedom of association. We also require our suppliers to protect the environment and conserve resources — and expect them to pass our requirements on to their own suppliers.

Circular Economy

At ELPRO, we have established a reliable process for reusing data loggers or individual components and raw materials. In addition, when developing new devices, we make sure that they can be used multiple times and can be used significantly longer thanks to improved battery life. In our solutions, we also rely on the use of state-of-the-art technologies to ensure the longest possible service life.
