LIBERO combines safe and reliable transport monitoring with the advantages of PDF formats. This first case study describes the services provided to the medicine delivery service «Zur Rose» in Frauenfeld , Switzerland . «Zur Rose» benefited from the comprehensive know how of ELPRO: Temperature Mapping, installation and start-up of a Central Monitoring System, including IQ/OQ and training of the staff were included in the service package provided to the customer. The setup of the system was realised fast and efficiently, so the daily operations of «Zur Rose» were not affected by this work.

ELPRO dataloggers for extreme conditions
The dataloggers can be submerged to a maximum depth of 10 meters, or can also be buried directly into the soil. One application may be to leave the datalogger during the cleaning process of your cooling chamber using superheated steam.
The measurement values of the internal temperature sensor are stored in the memory and can be analysed and prin-ted out at any time. Using the elproLOG software and PC interface, the data can be transferred easily to any PC using infrared communication.

Example: Biorepository-Monitoring
Ultra-low-temperature freezers are used for the long-term storage of human cells and tissues. The temperatures of around -86°C are captured with the networkable dataloggers of the ECOLOG-NET series. Using the software package elproLOG Monitor, the system allows an around-the-clock monitoring of the temperature data. To alert the staff in case of a temperature deviation, dial-out alarms are used.

When it recognizes a signal, the receiver reacts and sends its personal identifier. The basis station (a notebook with a mini antenna or a fixed station with PC and one or more fix-mounted exterior antenna) uses the transmitted identifier to determine system affiliation; it then decides what to do with this datalogger.
Consequently, markers and information can be transmitted to and read from the logger. It is also possible to check the alarm status, to read out saved temperature data or to execute reprogramming. Of course, all this is only possible if the password-protection at HAMSTER-R authorizes such procedures.
This combination of datalogger, automatic radio evaluation at a distance of 30 to 100m and exact identification possibilities offers excellent solutions for documenting cold chains in vehicle fleets, for branch companies and for shipment of temperature-sensitive products.

Mean Kinetic Temperature
The Mean Kinetic Temperature is an evaluated temperature constant which simulates the effect produced by temperature fluctuations during a certain period of time. The MKT is the sum of the thermal stress which a product is exposed to during storage and transport. High temperatures are more significant than low ones. As a result, this method of calculation takes account of the accelerated degeneration of material at high temperatures.
Arrhenius calculation
The calculation is used to evaluate storage time reductions when a product has been subjected to bad storage conditions. Evaluation is based on the so-called Arrhenius2 Life-Stress Model.
